Terms of Service
Last updated August 21, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and StreamCatcher ("we", "us") for the use of StreamCatcher — the website at streamcatcher.pro and everything it does. By creating an account you accept them. They are written to be read, so please read them.
What StreamCatcher does
StreamCatcher helps you turn a Twitch VOD into a short vertical video. You search for a channel, pick a stream, mark a start and an end point, and we cut that segment, reframe it, transcribe it and burn in captions on our servers. You get an MP4 you can download, and optionally a share page for it.
Clips are capped at two minutes. Finished files are 1080×1920 (9:16), 1080×1080 (1:1) or a straight 16:9 cut. We may change, add or remove features as the product develops.
Your account
- You need an account, and you must be old enough to enter into a contract where you live.
- Give us a real email address. We use it for password resets, receipts and the occasional message about your clips.
- Keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you, so tell us straight away if you think someone else is in it.
- One human per account. Team accounts can have several members; each member signs in as themselves.
- You can delete your account whenever you like, from your account settings.
What you clip is your responsibility
This is the important part.
- A VOD belongs to the person who streamed it, and often to other people too — the game publisher, a musician, anyone else on camera. Being able to clip something is not the same as being allowed to.
- You are responsible for having the right to clip, keep and post whatever you put through StreamCatcher, and for how you use the result. That includes crediting the creator where it is expected of you.
- Twitch's Terms of Service still apply to the VOD and to the clip you make from it, whether or not you are the streamer. So do the rules of wherever you post it.
- If a creator asks you to take a clip down, take it down. If a creator or rightsholder asks us, we will remove clips we host and, where the same account keeps doing it, close the account. Write to support@streamcatcher.pro.
We do not review clips before they are made, and we do not claim any ownership of what you create. What you upload and what you export stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it only so that we can run the service for you — cut it, transcribe it, caption it, show it back to you, and serve a share page if you turn one on.
Plans, payment and the trial
- Free. Five clips a calendar month, and a small semi-transparent "StreamCatcher" mark in the bottom-right corner of the exported video. Everything else — captions, translation, the aspect ratios, the resolution, voiceover, picture-in-picture — is the same as on Pro.
- Pro. $9 a month or $79 a year. It removes the clip limit and the watermark, and adds face-aware reframing and AI highlight suggestions.
- The trial. Pro starts with a seven-day trial on your first subscription. We do not ask for a card up front. If there is no card on the account when the trial ends, the subscription pauses and you are simply back on Free — nothing is charged, and nothing you have made disappears.
- Billing. Payments are handled by Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax that has to be added where you are. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time from the billing page. Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not refund part-used periods, but if something has gone genuinely wrong, write to us and we will sort it out.
- Price changes. If we change what a plan costs, we will tell you by email before it applies to your next renewal.
Using the service fairly
Do not:
- work around Twitch's own access rules — subscriber-only, private or geo-blocked video is off limits unless the account you connected is genuinely allowed to see it;
- make or share anything illegal, or anything that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
- use clips to harass, defame or impersonate someone, or to build a sexualised or hateful edit of a person;
- scrape, resell or automate the service through anything other than the interface and API we provide;
- run scripts, load tests or bulk jobs that degrade the service for other people, or try to get around the free-tier limits with extra accounts;
- probe, break or reverse-engineer the platform, or upload anything malicious to it.
Suspending or closing an account
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that is being used to infringe someone's rights, or that puts the service or other users at risk. Where it is reasonable we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix it; where it is not — a legal demand, an active abuse case — we may act immediately. If we close your account for something other than a breach, we will refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.
You can close your own account at any time. Doing so deletes your clips, their transcripts and the files behind them.
The service comes as it is
We work hard on StreamCatcher, but we cannot promise it will be available without interruption, that every VOD will be reachable, or that a transcript will be word-perfect. Transcription and AI suggestions are automated: they are useful, they are not always right, and you should check anything you are going to publish. Third-party platforms can change their APIs without warning, and when they do, parts of the service may stop working until we catch up.
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost revenue, lost followers, lost opportunities, or loss of data — arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
If a claim is brought against us because of something you clipped, posted or shared, you are responsible for it.
Changes to these terms
We will update these terms from time to time. When we do, the date at the top of this page changes, and if the change actually affects your rights we will tell you by email or in the app rather than hoping you notice. Carrying on using the service after a change means you accept the new version; if you do not, close your account.
